Charges over Coalisland shooting

A man has been charged in connection with a shooting at a house in Coalisland at the weekend.

The 35-year-old man was charged with criminal damage, possessing an offensive weapon, theft, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and carrying a firearm with intent.

A family of five – two men, two women and a young child – were in the Glen Road property when two shots were fired at about 7.30am on Saturday.

The man is expected to appear at Omagh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

A second man, arrested on Monday, remains in custody.
