Coalisland Special Olympics club quiz night

Coalisland’s Eagles Special Olympics Club is to hold a gala quiz night fundraiser.

The event will take place in O’Neills Bar in the town on Thursday, December 22 from 9pm, with proceeds going towards the club.

The Eagles Special Olympics Club aims to help adults and children over eight years old who have learning disabilities to become more involved in the world of sport, and train towards taking part in the Special Olympics next year.

Open nights have been held at Primate Dixon Primary School, with about 16 athletes attending ahead of the club’s official launch in January.

Speaking about the forthcoming quiz, Paul Sweeney, sports officer and head coach for the club, said: “We hope a large crowd will come along and help raise the much needed funds to get the club off the ground.”
