The Stewartstown Local Histroy Society will hold a meeting on Monday, November 28 in the Crieve Centre at 8pm. The guest speaker will be Dr Colin J Donnelly, of Queen’s University Belfast, who will revue the history of Lowell, Mass, its development and the role played by Irish Immigrants. The editorial committee of The Bell are preparing issue number 13 for the Christmas market.

Cairde Ui Neill Irish-language classes for beginners and intermediate level are held every Monday, between 7pm and 9pm, at Gaelscoil.

Santa’s Sooty Christmas is to be held at CRAIC Theatre on Tuesday, November 29 at 10.30am, Wednesday, November 30 at 10am, Thursday, December 1 at 10.30am and Friday, December 2 at 10am.

Gymnastics for primary school-aged pupils will be held at St Mary’s Community Sports Hall every Monday between 4pm and 5pm, and between 5pm and 6pm for older pupils. Yoga Classes are held every Tuesday from 7.30 p.m.

Creative writing classes continue at CRAIC Theatre on Wednesdays. The classes are being taken by published author, Fiona Cassidy.

Primate Dixon Primary School is to hold an open night in the school on Thursday, December 1 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Adult keep fit classes continue in the sports hall, St Joseph’s College, every Thursday, from 7pm to 9 pm. The classes are free. Phone 8774 0510.  Limited numbers.

Irish dance classes with teacher Damian O’Neill are held every Friday at 4.30pm in CRAIC Theatre.

Coalisland’s Christmas lights will be switched on at the Cornmill on Friday, December 2 from 6pm to 7.30pm, featuring Disco, Elvis, Jedward-CRAIC style, Aiden McNally, and cast of the CRAIC panto.

Stewartstown Harps under age boys’ training will take place at St Mary’s Community Sports Hall on Friday, December 2 from 6pm to 7 pm for children under six years; from 7pm to 8pm for those under eight; and from 8pm to 9pm for the under 10s.  Newcomers welcome.

Coalisland/Clonoe CCE –  Next session in the Dog House, Derrytresk on Friday, December 2 at 9.30pm.

A car-boot sale will be held in the Parochial Centre car park on Saturday, December 3 from 9 am to 12noon. Cars £5, vans £10.  Proceeds in aid of the Happy Days Playgroup.

 

NOTICES

CGT Productions presents Laurel and Hardy’s Christmas Spectacular, and dance, in the Parochial Centre at 8.30pm on Wednesday, December 21. All proceeds in aid of the St Vincent de Paul Society. Light refreshments and late bar. Tickets: £10, available from the Ozanam Centre or any member of the society or CGT members.

St Vincent De Paul Society wish to advise people that Fuel Saving Stamps are now available from the Springisland Supermarket.  The stamps cost £5 each, and they are an excellent way of budgeting towards the cost of heating oil.  They can be placed on a stamp card and are redeemed by most fuel oil suppliers.

The LiLAC charity shop is open in Western House weekdays from 10am to 4pm.  Why not donate good-quality clothes, books, good quality furniture and household items? Carers coffee: All carers and former carers are very welcome to come along on Friday mornings to Western House for a coffee and a chat.  Number of activities available. Call 8774 0831.
