The Lieutenant of Inishmore coming to CRAIC – video

CRAIC Theatre regulars will take to the stage next week to perform The Lieutenant of Inishmore – a farcical look at political violence during The Troubles in Northern Ireland.

The show, by Martin McDonagh, follows Padriac, who is numb to the feelings of his victims, but yet completely attached to and sentimental about his pet cat.

When the cat is reported dead while Padriac is away bombing civilian targets in the North as a one-man splinter group, his family and friends in Inishmore desperately try to conceal his pet’s death before he returns.

But the mutilated cat sets off a murderous cycle of revenge.

The show will be take place from Wednesday 11 April to Sunday 15 April at 8pm each night. Admission £8. Call the CRAIC Theatre box office on 028 87741100 for details
