U14 Football
Goals win games and this was certainly the order of play on Saturday when our U14’s hosted Omagh ‘B’ in a preliminary championship fixture and thankfully it was the home side that scored the greater number of major’s and won on a score line of 10:2 to 3:16. The Roes playing with a strong 1st half breeze took just 30 seconds to register the 1st 3 pointer through Jamie Devlin. Captain Sean Day made his return from injury with 3 goals in the opening half and with a James O’Hagan point followed by another well taken goal via Cormac Mackle, the Roes lead 5:1 to 1:5 at half time. Knowing that defending this lead was never going to get the lads across the line; they proceeded to find the Omagh net in the second half with Jamie devlin 2.0, Conor Stock 1.0 and James O’Hagan 1.1. As the score line suggests this was a very good Omagh team who kept picking off points but the presence and work rate of Brian Casey at full back gave the visitors very little option but to take the minimum score on several occasions. D. Talbot: P. Gervin: B. Casey: J. O’Hagan (1:2): S. Anderson: S. Day (3:0): J. Devlin (3:0): C. Stock (1:0): C. Mackle (2:0); P. Loughran; E. Loughran; S. Coney; C. O’Donnell: O. Linden; A. Ruddy: Next game is an away fixture this Saturday against Eskra: Times and details provided at training Tuesday 6.30pm.
