Other News
Congratulations to our Minor team who brought a Minor Championship title to the club last Saturday in Killyclogher, when they defeated Urney in an enthralling final. Brackaville were trailing 0-8 to 0-3 at the end of the first half but, in what was an exceptional second half display, managed to record a win with six points to spare. In the first half Brackaville were playing against a very strong wind but still managed to cut out some glorious chances, though the heroics of the Urney goalkeeper thwarted those chances, but with some excellent defending by Mickey Casey and Eddie Quinn the Roes managed to come into the changing rooms trailing by only five points. Brackaville emerged for the second half with changes to the lineout by Stephen and Brian and from the off outplayed Urney in every area of the field. Captain Martin Gervin led from the front with an exceptional display of fielding and along with new playing partner Rian Mc Hugh dominated the midfield area that was lacking in the first half. Che O’Donnell Tiernan McGlinchey and Dale McSorley now getting quality ball from the midfield were all lining up to take their turn to score points that not only levelled the match but went on to extend their lead. Che O’Donnell then added a well constructed goal to put the tie well in the Roes favour. Points from Rian McHugh and Martin Gervin extend the lead further before Che O’Donnell added the killer blow with another well taken goal. The second half was an exceptional team performance with Dale McSorley standing out in what was his best performance in a Roes jersey. Other notable performances from Sean Dynes Peter James Mackle, Martin McCann, Stephen O’Neill, Ruari McElhatton and Dwaine McKenna spurred Brackaville to a tremendous victory. Well done lads you have done your Club Proud.
This Saturday all roads will lead to Edendork when our Reserve team will be facing their old foes Dungannon in the Reserve Championship Semi-final on Saturday at 1.30 so come along and let your voice be heard and cheer on our young Roes.
