Coalisland legend Dennis Taylor has created an account on Twitter, gaining more than 2,000 followers within his first day on the site.
The snooker world champion chose the profile name @dennistaylor147 – suffixing his name with the iconic maximum snooker break.
Taylor joined the social networking site while out for a drink with fellow BBC commentator John Parrott and snooker ace Cliff Thorburn.
He said in his inaugural tweet: “Just signed up. Having a drink with John Parrott.” The message was posted online at around midnight on Tuesday May 24 2011.
Within minutes the final-frame winner was bombarded with messages from fans.
A jovial Taylor said in his second tweet: “Great to hear from you all. One more glass of red with my good mates Cliff Thorburn & John Parrott & then off to bed. Not with them though.”
