Photographer opens state-of-the-art Coalisland studio

Coalisland photographer Oliver Corr has opened a brand new state-of-the-art studio in the town.

Oliver converted a store and garage at his Lower Annagher home into a spacious studio after relocating from Coalisland’s CRAIC Theatre.

The studio contains the modern equipment necessary for first-class photographs, and its walls are adorned with portraits and exhibits of his work.

Oliver is already receiving many enquiries from those familiar with his work, and has thanked CRAIC Theatre for its support.

He said: “Today I am the photographer I always dreamt of being.

“I specialise in pictures of people – people getting married, people at school, people in adverts, portraits of people.

“It is an area of photography gives me most enjoyment and the feedback so far has been very positive.

“That is the most fulfilling aspect of photography – that people are pleased with the images.”

Oliver, a CRAIC Theatre staff member, has had an interest in photography since his childhood.

“I got my first camera when I was 12 or 13. I remember spending endless hours going through boxes and boxes of photographs that my grandfather took for over 40 years from the 1930’s through to the 1960’s. He was a really keen photographer and even had his own darkroom,” Oliver said.

But Oliver’s passion became a profession about seven years ago when a local newspaper asked him to take a photograph to accompany a news story.

So impressed was the weekly paper, they were soon requesting him to take photographs every week.

Oliver is now the well-known man behind the camera at weddings, anniversaries and birthday parties. He also enjoys producing individual, group and family portraits at his new studio.
