The incident happened on Thursday, June 9 at about 3pm, along the Ballynakilly Road, Coalisland.
An altercation took place after police stopped a male motorist along the road. A vehicle was damaged and CS spray was used in the incident.
A spokesperson for the ombudsman’s office said: “We are looking to establish what happened and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.”
