Musician Sharon Corr and her globe-trotting lifestyle may seem far removed from life in Coalisland – but the star has revealed her roots lie closer to home than many people know.
The Voice of Ireland coach, who found fame as part of hit sibling band The Corrs, has told of her family connection to Coalisland while chatting to fans on social networking site Twitter.
Sharon revealed that her father’s side of her famous family originates from our small town.
The 42-year-old violinist, from Dundalk, spoke of the close connection with Coalisland after local accountancy firm Corr & Corr asked the singer to follow it on Twitter.
Replying to the follow-back request, Sharon said: “We could be related? Dad’s family from Coalisland.”
The revealing tweet comes as The Corrs singer prepares for a hectic summer tour across Europe, which kicks off in Spain on June 21.
