A new production directed by leading dramatist Martin Lynch and written by bestselling crime author Sam Millar is heading to CRAIC Theatre for one night only.
Brothers in Arms tells the story of two brothers – one a dissident republican, the other a Sinn Féin MLA – who come together to bury their father.
Former republican prisoner and novelist Millar explores the divisions in modern-day Republicanism, the legacy of the Troubles for those who served in prison and the impact on their families.
Each brother has his own strong beliefs, and despite their mother’s pleas for peace, old family resentments and secrets rise to the surface in this portrayal of a family torn apart by political difference.
The play – starring BJ Hogg, Tony Devlin, Helena Bereen and Jimmy Doran, and designed by David Craig – will be performed in CRAIC Theatre as part of a tour across the North following several performances in Belfast.
It is the latest play from production company Green Shoot, following the successes of Chronicles of Long Kesh and Over the Bridge.
