Police have closed off Farlough Road

Police have cordoned off several roads between Coalisland and Dungannon after a factory gas cylinder went on fire.

Police received reports of a gas cylinder fire at a Farlough Road factory at about 8am today.

Junctions on Lisdhu Road, Cullion Road, Farlough Road and Derryvale Road have been closed off following the incident.

And police say the roads could be closed until  tomorrow morning while the fire is being dealt with.

In a statement, a PSNI spokesman said: “Police are advising motorists that there are road closures following a cylinder being on fire at a factory in the Farlough Road, Dungannon.

“The road closures are at the junction of Lisdhu Road and Coalisland Road; the junction of Cullion Road and Coalisland Road; at the junction of Farlough Road and Coalisland Road and the junction of Farlough Road and Derryvale Road.

“At this stage the road closures are expected to be in place until tomorrow morning (Thursday 22 December).”

The spokesman also confirmed no homes have been evacuated.

He said: “Any homes close to this are outside the exclusion zone.”
