Coalisland and Dungannon receive £90,000 funding boost

Housing estates in Coalisland and Dungannon are to receive a £90,000 funding boost, Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has announced.

Innishmore, Ardmore and Mourne Crescent in Coalisland will benefit from the investment, along with Annagshee in Dungannon.

The money will be used to provide extra car parking spaces and to improve the appearance of the housing estates.

The funding proposals were recommended by the Dungannon and Coalisland Neighbourhood Partnerships.

Nelson McCausland said: “This is a good boost for Dungannon and Coalisland. Improving this type of facility in local housing estates will enhance the overall appearance of the areas. It will help to create a safer environment for the residents and families.

“I commend Dungannon and Coalisland Neighbourhood Partnerships on their continued good work to revitilise their local areas.”

The funding was announced on the NI Executive website on Thursday, December 15.

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive was involved in the implementing of the project, giving it a total value of nearly £110,000.

The total amount spent to date by Department of Social Development in the Coalisland Neighbourhood Renewal area is £1.8m, and £1.7m in Dungannon.
