Coalisland Canal weekend clean-up – in pictures

Volunteers gathered at Coalisland Canal to take part in a clean-up operation and help expose the original walls of a lock along the waterway.

The clean-up took place at Mac’s Lock, near Concrete Systems on Gortgonis Road, on Saturday, November 26 between 10am and 12:30pm.

Volunteers including Coalisland canal committee members Kieran O’Neill, Eamon Shields, Roy Wilkins, Tommy Corr, Kevin Shields, Martin Hughes and Tommy O’Neill took part in the early morning clean-up operation.

Martin Hughes, Press and Media officer on the Coalisland Canal committee, said: “Thanks to all who gave their time and equipment, and worked hard to improve the appearance of the canal.”
