Stewartstown History Society is to hold the first in a new series of talks this evening at 8pm in the Cri eve Centre. The illustrated talk on the town’s Yankee Club will be given by Aidan Fee.
Seal Spraoi Youth Club registration for Irish-medium children will take place on Wednesday, September 28th at 6 p.m, in Gortgonis community house. Cost £10.
Creative writing classes are to begin at CRAIC Theatre on Wednesday, September 28 at 7pm. The classes are being taken by published author, Fiona Cassidy.
A charity concert in aid of alzheimers will take place at CRAIC Theatre on Wednesday, September 28 at 8pm. Nathan Carter, Lisa McHugh, Brendan Quinn, Shaun Loughrey, The Benn Sisters, Justin McGurk, John Farry and Sinead Taggart, will all be performing.
St Mary’s Primary School is to hold an open evening to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The event will take place at 7pm on Thursday, September 29. All the past, present and future parents are welcome to tour the school, the classrooms, and view a photog display of past pupils. An mass to mark the schools milestone will take place on Wednesday, September 28, at 10am.
The Eagles Special Olympics Club will be formed at a public meeting on Thursday, September 29 at 7 p.m in O’Neill’s Bar. The club is for all adults and children who have a learning disability from Coalisland and surrounding areas.
Cairde Ui Neill Irish-language classes for beginners and intermediate level begin on Monday, October 3, and every Monday, between 7pm and 9pm, at Gaelscoil.
Irish dance classes with teacher Damian O’Neill are held every Friday at 4.30pm in CRAIC Theatre.
Adult Irish-language reading sessions will take place in Coalisland library on every second Thursday between 6pm and 7 pm, beginning on Thursday, September 22. Youth reading sessions will take place every second Saturday between 2pm and 3pm from Saturday, September 24.
NOTICES
Following the success of Coalisland parish’s Guest Tea last year, a further event will be organised for Friday, October 14. Contact Fr Paul on 8774 0221 as soon as possible if you are willing to provide a table.
A bring-and-buy sale is to be held by Stewartstown’s St Vincent de Paul Society on Saturday, October 8, in the Vincentian Centre, North Street. Any items you wish to give to the sale can be handed in at the society’s premises on the next two Saturday mornings between 11am and 1pm. All proceeds will be used in the local community.
