Handball blitz at St Joseph’s – in pictures

Pupils at St Joseph’s  College in Coalisland have competed in a handball blitz against some of the best young handballers in the county.

The year 10 pupils competed along with three visiting local schools: Holy Trinity, Cookstown; St Ciaran’s, Ballgawley; and Dean Brian Maguirc, Carrickmore.

The event was planned and organised by Rose-Mary Nelis and Richard Thornton from the PE Department at St Joseph’s.

Pupils were given prizes for their performances at the end of the blitz.

Handball has become a very popular sport, both in Tyrone and also within the Coalisland school.

St Joseph’s has four handball walls – two outdoor and two indoor – where pupils can compete against each other during break and lunch.
