Police storm Coalisland home in ‘terrorist investigation’

POLICE teams stormed a Coalisland home yesterday as part of an investigation into “terrorist activity”.

UPDATE: Police returned to the house yesterday evening (Wednesday April 6) and have remained at the property throughout Thursday morning.

A total of five police vans assembled at a property in The Mills estate, a new housing development off the Washing Bay Road, early on Sunday morning.

Police were first seen at around 7am and remained at a two-storey, red-brick property in the estate for more than 12 hours.

Puzzled neighbours looked on as police vehicles and armed officers surrounded the property.

Forensic teams were also seen entering the house as part of the investigation.

A PSNI spokeswoman confirmed that officers were present at The Mills estate as part of on-going “investigations into terrorist activity”.

No arrests have been made.
